When the State of Minnesota received an NHL expansion team in 2000, they wanted to create a team and a logo that would best represent the "state of hockey". There's no better way than to put a black bear's head in the logo but it becomes clever when they put a typical Minnesota scenery in there with pine trees, the sun rising over a red sky, with a star as the eye of the bear and a stream as the bear's mouth. When people see this logo for the first time, they don't think much of it but if you actually look at this logo like a piece of art, your mind will be blown.
